“What we really teach is the challenge, the power, and yes, if you want it to be, the fun of free will. Wherever you are in life, someone has had it worse and made it, and someone has had it better, and blown it.”

Wow! After 8 weeks in Florida, we have some interesting observations. First and foremost, people are people.
Whether we are American, Latin, African, or European, we all want the same thing. That is to be valued and know we are worthy. The issues of self-esteem (what we think about ourself) and self-image (what we think others thing about us) are keys to happiness. Too many people are living their life worrying about what other people think about them.
Most people don’t think about you as much as you think they think about you. So, the key is what you think about yourself.
We have given out Celebrate You for over 30 years. It has saved lives. We don’t remember where we found it. We have been including it in every handout since 1983.
We gave it to a group of teachers in the Newark Ohio City Schools. One teacher gave it to another teacher. This teacher gave it to her students. One girl was being abused. She escaped her situation and went on to college. She posted the Celebrate You outside her dorm room. One day there was a knock on the door. A young man stood there crying. He said, “I was ready to get into my car and run it into a tree. After reading, Celebrate You, I realized how stupid that would have been.”
You never truly know the impact you have on the world.
You are worth celebrating.
You are worth celebrating.
You are unique.
In all the world, there is only one you.
There is only one person with your talents,
your experience, your gift.
No one can take your place!
Only one of you was created, unique in your own way.
You have immense potential to love, to care,
to create, to grow, to sacrifice,
if you believe in yourself.
It doesn’t matter your age, or your color,
or whether your parents loved you or not.
(Maybe they wanted to, but didn’t know how.)
Let that go, it belongs to the past; you belong to the now.
It doesn’t matter what you’ve been, the wrong you’ve done,
the mistakes you’ve made, the people you’ve hurt.
You are forgiven. You are accepted, you’re OK.
Begin now. Give yourself a new birth. Today.
You are you, and that is all you need to be.
You are temporary. Here today and gone tomorrow.
But today, today can be a new beginning, a new thing, a new life.
You deserve this new life, it is given freely.
That is the miracle of being.
So celebrate the miracle and celebrate you!

|Book Review – A New Way to Be Human – 7 Spiritual Pathways to Becoming Fully Alive by Robert V. Taylor|
Robert V. Taylor invests his life in helping individuals and organizations to realize their full human potential and impact in the world.
Born and raised in South Africa, Taylor saw firsthand the difference that could be made when oppressed people are given the freedom to discover their voices, trust their imaginations, and find the courage to be who they are. Taylor continues to explore integrating personal spirituality and values-driven strategies with the question of how we each leave a footprint of compassion in the world-both at home and in the corporate marketplace.
“A New Way to Be Human will become well thumbed as you return to it time and time again to be reminded of what is essential to your journey: that God longs for us to be people of love and compassion.” – Desmond M. Tutu, Nobel Peace Prize Laureate
A couple of recent assignments have been interesting.
First, the Department of Commerce of the State of Ohio and FDIC had Phil present Creating Results through Enjoyable Solutions: Coming to Work, Ready to Play to over 170 Bank Examiners. Think about it. Everyone says “Yippee, the Bank Examiners are here!” NOT! But when you truly think about it, you realize that they are the ones that keep the banking industry accountable.
The Association of Certified Fraud Examiners, Central Ohio Chapter, had Phil speak at the 13th Annual Emerging Trends in Fraud Investigation and Prevention Conference along with the State of Ohio Auditors Office. This program, Work Smart, Have Fun & Create Loyalty: Being Strong during Challenging Times focused on enjoying their role in prevention even though they are inspectors.
